Writing

After 10 years of crafting improvised plays on stage, I began writing my own plays in 2012, and I haven't stopped writing since. This momentum inspired me to start my theatre company, American Berserk Theatre, in 2016.

After success writing for the stage, I've moved so comfortably into screenwriting, it feels like a custom fit glove I was always meant to slip on. Most genres appeal to me, but especially comedy, sci-fi, historical fiction, and fantasy. If we can mash a couple of those together, you've got my attention.

Co-written with best selling thriller author Amy Gentry, BSC is a coming-of-age teen dramedy we staged in Austin, TX in 2013.

How Did Improv Lead To Screenwriting?

My award-winning internationally touring improv company Parallelogramophonograph has honed and refined again and again the art of improvising a play on the spot in a variety of styles. With over 1,000 shows under our belts, we've staged every genre imaginable and have taken our approach on the road to over 65 cities and 11 countries since we began the company in 2005.

Storytelling is in my bones.

Characters of all kinds are already in my mind.

I make up 90-minute plays with no prep every single week. Moving into writing fiction for the stage and screen has been so natural and such a joy for me.
